Stella's Turning FOUR!!!!

I was honored when this sweet girl's mama asked me about doing her four-year-old pictures. Stella and her family go to our church, and she was born just a couple of weeks before my own Joseph. It was so special to be asked to do these pictures for her. And can I just tell y'all that this mama came prepared!?!?!?! She even brought reinforcements to help! Lol!!!

I was so thankful that Liza allowed me to play around a little. In the picture above I was waiting outside the truck while Stella was getting ready for her pictures, and I just happened to capture this image. It ended up being one of Liza's favorites, so thank goodness I had the good sense to snap it!! Lol!!

I love the fact that Liza brought along enough balloons to represent Stelly's age, and these glitter photos were all her idea. I was so nervous about taking them because I knew it would be hard to click my shutter at the right moment and catch the spray of glitter in a way that still made Stella stand out! These were our successful captures, after several unsuccessful attempts. Lol! Who knew that glitter could be so difficulty to blow????

Aren't those just the most stunning eyes on the most beautiful little girl that you've ever seen???

Happy birthday sweet Stella!

Introducing Miss Avery Belle

So, my newest niece was born just a few short weeks ago, and my brother and sister-in-law asked me to take her newborn pictures. I am so eat up with her y'all, that I just can't stand it!! I am amazed to see my brother's tenderness with this sweet little beauty, and I am beyond proud of my sister-in-law. She went through labor like a champ, and is an excellent first time mom. I'm just honored to be a part of this new journey with them!!!

These were taken just a few days after she was born. These pictures just don't do her justice!!! She is absolutely beautiful. And look at my sister-in-law!! No one would ever guess that she'd given birth just DAYS earlier!!!

What a precious little family they are!!!! Love you guys!

Mia is 6 Months!!!!

I was so excited when my good friend, Cassy, called and asked me to take her daughter's six month pictures. I was also a good bit nervous (I seem to say that a lot!!), seeing as it would be my first time trying to still the movement of a very active little tot. Sweet Mia was just beginning to pull herself up, and she could roll and move like nobody's business. I just thank the Lord she wasn't walking yet!!! I'd of never kept up with her then!!

Cassy and her hubby, BJ, were such TROOPERS!!! It was an icky hot day, but they hung in like real champs!! Cassy came prepared with props that were special to her, and really had an idea of what she wanted. You know I love a mama who comes with a vision!!! Any who! It was a great afternoon of catching up with friends and capturing a few special memories along the way!!

Haley's Bridal Pictures

Umkay! So, this is a very special post. Six months ago a young lady asked me to take her engagement pictures. I told her that I wasn't a professional, but she didn't care. She said she wanted me to try. So, I did. Not before I worried, fretted, and even thought I would throw up because I was so scared. But, I took them. She loved them, and, so did other people, so much so that I've started practicing my skills on the side and am booking a couple of sessions a month. Fast forward six months, and that same young lady asked me to take her bridal pictures. I was HONORED by the request (and simultaneously terrified again!).

Hayley, you were a BEAUTIFUL bride, and I know that you are going to make an amazing wife and mother. You have a beautiful spirit that draws people in like a magnet, and your genuine love and concern for others radiates. I will say it again, I was BEYOND honored to be included in your special day!

Week 36: Jacob and Stuart

It's been a few weeks since I posted, but that doesn't mean that I haven't been snapping away! Up on the blog this week are Jacob and Stuart's session. Their mom, Tracy, contacted me about taking Jacob's senior pictures. As we talked about her vision for the session, she decided that she'd like to do a longer family session to get pictures of both of her boys...something that hadn't happened in years!!!

Can I be honest? This was my first session with boys, and I was nervous! I mean girls tend to come with lots of props that you can add into the picture, they are very smiley, they know how to pose, and they typically have a vision of what they want from the session. The males in my life, at least, are not like that at all. They are drug, against their will, to photo sessions, threatened into a forced smile, and bolt out of dodge as soon as possible!!! I didn't know if I'd be able to keep the boys' attention for the entire session or how in the world I would pose them (I mean, let's face it, posing boys is different than girls!!). Well, let me just say that I was pleasantly surprised.

Tracy came with coordinated outfits picked out for the boys, and both Jacob and Stuart went along with every whim their mom and I threw at them. It was one of the absolute hottest days of the summer, and these boys didn't complain once. I knew that Jacob had musical talent from hearing him sing at church, but I also got to see his personality. He has such a cool sense of humor, and he can make you laugh with an ease that makes it took like he's not even trying. You can see how he looks up to his older brother, Stuart, and how much both of those boys love their mama. And, can I just say, they have the cutest smiles!!

Tracy, thank you for trusting me to take these pictures of your boys and for sharing this experience with me. Stuart, I really enjoyed getting to know you, and I was so impressed by your relationship with your brother. Jacob, this is your senior year!!!! Be sure to breathe it all in...these moments pass quickly, but the memories you make will last a life time.
